  1. Uh oh.  Now you've done it.

  3. You've just begun to install the Total Entertainment Network, the new
  4. hang-out for game players on the Internet.  This could mean trouble.  If
  5. you're fool enough to hit the NEXT button below, you'll be flung head-first
  6. into the evolving world of Internet entertainment.  You'll be force-fed 5
  7. free hours of online thrills with hit multiplayer games.  You'll be
  8. obligated to eyeball the heaps of features that TEN has to offer.  Your
  9. whole outlook on digital entertainment could take such a thrashing that you
  10. may never play the same way again.

  12. Need more reasons not to continue?  Okay, two words: "Free" and "More."

  14. First, "Free."  When you sign on to TEN for the first time, you'll get 5 free
  15. hours of online play.  That's 300 minutes of your precious entertainment
  16. time down the tube.  That's 5 less hours of David Hasselhoff's shaggy chest
  17. hair.  Or your 65th viewing of the Star Wars Trilogy.  Or 5 hours of play
  18. against some moronic computer opponent in a boring single-player game.
  19. Yeah, it's gonna hurt.

  21. Next, "More."  What you have here is a full-bodied multiplayer gaming
  22. network.  This version of TEN gives you all the features you need to meet
  23. and play games with other people over the Internet.  It's clean, simple, and
  24. straight-forward.  But don't be lulled by the opening gambit.  We're only
  25. going to make your life more complicated with more and more stuff.  Soon
  26. we'll be rolling out GameScape, our game information resource.  We'll host
  27. tournaments and contests with real prizes.  We'll give you a full suite of
  28. Internet services.  We'll make it easier to meet people and make friends.
  29. And we'll support more and more freaking games.  We're only going to make
  30. our service bigger, better, stronger, faster.  In a world as complex as
  31. ours, do you really want to deal with all that?

  33. Well, that's the best we can do to scare you off.  If you've got Win95, a
  34. 14.4+ kbps modem or Internet connection, a TEN supported game*, a major
  35. credit card, and self-destructive tendencies, go ahead and punch that NEXT
  36. button to register on TEN.  And don't say you weren't warned.
